Job Description

Experience Designers at U.S. Bank are customer obsessed in developing human-centered experiences that provide personalized, clear, helpful, and inclusive digital plus human solutions for our customers. Experience designers consider the why, what, and how of product use to help identify where user needs intersect with business goals across the entire user journey. Leverages human-centered design methods (design-thinking, service design, research/insights, etc.) to plan, create, and present persuasive, engaging, and strategic ideas that influence product roadmaps and demonstrate a solution's potential for success.

Design intuitive, creative, and elegant experiences that drive a positive and engaging user experience. Use technical expertise to bring design decisions to life through quality digital experience prototypes, based in leading design best practices, research findings and analytic insights. Elevate our Shield Design System by focusing on reusability and consistency.

Proficiency in design craft is demonstrated through knowledge of, and proficiency in, the set of design craft skills:
  • Interaction design: User flows & flowcharts, Wireframing, Conceptual models
  • User-centered design
  • Information architecture
  • Value proposition design
  • Visual design: User interface design, Visual brand guidelines, Layouts, patterns, icons, Design specifications
  • Behavioral design: Experimentation
  • Emerging spaces: Conversation design (CxD), Artificial intelligence (AI), Ecosystem design
  • Knowledge of content design


Preferred Skills/Experience
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Typically three to five years of relevant experience
- Proficient product management, product and experience design or similar experience
- Effective presentation, verbal and written communication skills

- Demonstrates understanding of all design craft skills and has expertise in 2-3 craft skills (see list above). Continues to build strength in other areas of craft.

- Evolves work through constant feedback and iteration with the product team. Actively participates and/or leads cross-functional opportunities.

- Responsible for providing feedback, to design teams and across the organization, that elevates the quality and impact of design work.

- Actively develops the craft of junior Experience Designers within the team.

- Seen as a subject matter expert in their craft who is leading design work

Location Expectations
The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $108,375.00 - $127,500.00 - $140,250.00
