Duties

  • Responsible for making, cultivating, and sometimes even repairing relationships with the US Defense Industrial Base at the senior level.
  • Responsible for the ideation, planning, and implementation of all Technical Interchange Meetings(TIMs) with GVSC's industry partners.
  • Participates in the leadership team that forecasts how to engage with industry and the GVSC workforce.
  • Regularly interacts with senior leaders across all GVSC Business Groups as well as the executive team and provides briefings, overviews, and recommendations to these groups.
  • Assists management officials within GVSC and DEVCOM in defining project and collaboration scope, priorities, and staffing with an emphasis on projects and events that cut across organizational lines.
  • Collaborates and advises GVSC senior leadership on strategy and execution of GVSC's high level industry outreach events, such as Industry Days, the Michigan Defense Expo(MDEX), and the Ground Vehicle Systems Engineering Technology Symposium (GVSETS).
  • Assists the event planning team in event planning, setup, and execution of all events, and actively participates in 1 on 1 engagements with industry partners at events.
  • Develops reports, briefings, and assessments of GVSC's interaction with domestic industry partners.
  • Leads project team(s) in defining customer critical to quality factors, defines and implements process improvements on key initiatives that result in significant improvements in value to the organization, and effective and efficient use of resources.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience:

To qualify at the DB-03/GS-12 thru GS-14 equivalent grade level: Your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the DE-02, higher-end of the Pay Band equivalent to GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes work that involves: Supporting research and development business functions by establishing processes and policies; maintaining, interpreting, or creating technical data in support of complex vehicle systems; and/or working with primary clients and stakeholders supporting the development of training policies and/or developmental programs, and experience designing a variety of presentation and/or instruction modules using various multimedia tools and technology.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (DE 02/GS-11).

This position is part of the Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDC) Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC), Science and Technology Reinvention Laboratory Personnel Management Demonstration Project. CCDC Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC) is participating in an alternative personnel system known as the Personnel Management Demonstration Projection. The DE-03 pay band is equivalent to the GS-12 step 1 through GS-14 step 10 grade levels.

  • Permanent Army employees selected for a time-limited assignment to a different major command must have either statutory or administrative return rights negotiated and documented prior to effecting the action. If this coordination is not completed and the action is affected the employee will return to the permanent position of record upon expiration of the temporary assignment. If the temporary assignment is extended by the gaining organization, additional coordination must be completed with the losing activity. If payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) cost is approved, payment will be in accordance with the Joint Travel Regulation (JTR).
