JOB TITLE: Principal Member of Technical Staff

JOB LOCATION: 208 S. Akard Street, Dallas, TX 75202 [and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.; may work from home]

DUTIES: Provide architecture and design support to initiatives in home networking to support AT&T's ability to deliver broadband services and "own the home". Apply advanced technical knowledge to architecture, design, and development related work efforts. Responsible for architecture and design of software feature specifications for AT&T's residential/business gateways. Work with third-party firmware/software suppliers to ensure the development and implementation efforts are aligned with the specifications. Stay up to speed with rapidly evolving wired and wireless technologies (e.g., 802.11n, 802.11ac/WiFi 5, 802.11ax/WiFi 6) and open-source frameworks (OpenWRT, PRPL foundation, RDK-B) that will impact home networking. Utilize public and private cloud technologies and architect and design solutions leveraging such cloud platforms. Understand and stay attuned to these technologies, network standards and emerging broadband applications AT&T wishes to offer to subscribers. Formulate strategies for selecting and implementing the correct mix of technologies for next generation broadband CPE devices serving our customers. Drive the implementation strategies by providing technical direction, which includes developing new technical requirements for launch of broadband gateways and planning for lab testing capabilities. Liaise with product teams to process high-level requirements and accordingly come up with architecture, design and technical requirements to help define the implementation scope for Firmware/Software suppliers. Work with networks, network protocols and IP networks. Conduct RG firmware development using embedded C/C++ and Linux during all phases of software development lifecycle. Perform security technology in the areas of VPN, firewalls, proxy, and IDS/IPS, Linux, Solaris and Windows. Work with CWMP/TR-069, USP/TR-369, Broadband Access, CPE management, CVOIP, IP Networking- IPv4, IPv6, DHCP, DNS, NTP, ARP, TLS, SSH, GRE, IPSec, RADIUS, IGMP, GPON/XGS-PON, Private/Public Cloud and Docker Containers.

REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or Mathematics and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in a related occupation liaising with product teams to process high-level requirements and accordingly come up with architecture, design and technical requirements to help define the implementation scope for Firmware/Software suppliers; working with networks, network protocols and IP networks; conducting RG firmware development using embedded C/C++ and Linux during all phases of software development lifecycle; performing security technology in the areas of VPN, firewalls, proxy, and IDS/IPS, Linux, Solaris and Windows; and working with CWMP/TR-069, USP/TR-369, Broadband Access, CPE management, CVOIP, IP Networking- IPv4, IPv6, DHCP, DNS, NTP, ARP, TLS, SSH, GRE, IPSec, RADIUS, IGMP, GPON/XGS-PON, Private/Public Cloud and Docker Containers.
