Job Description

Lead enterprise-level business process assessment, analysis and re-engineering initiatives to drive improved employee experience and increased operational efficiencies to support enterprise level employee experience and satisfaction strategic goals. Develop effective relationships across the organization and collaborate with sponsors, stakeholders and the business community to elicit, document, map (current and future state) and analyze business processes. Present clear assessment research and process improvement recommendations to business sponsors, stakeholders and executive management. Share best practices and industry insights with business and functional areas throughout the credit union. Assist functional areas with implementation of approved process improvement recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and assess business process strategies and opportunities
  • Proactively monitor external and internal sources to identify opportunities for employee experience and operational efficiency improvements
  • Establish and lead temporary process improvement teams, leveraging business area subject matter expert
  • Actively collaborate with staff across business units to define business processes; conduct analysis and recommend viable solutions to improve employee experiences and operational efficiencies
  • Serve as subject matter expert and internal consultant in a wide array of business domains by using broad knowledge/understanding of Navy Federal business processes and business models
  • Provide direction to team members and conduct full cycle business process mapping, analysis and re-engineering affecting cross-functional business areas
  • Conduct qualitative research and analysis to include interviewing business process owners/team members; monitoring live or recorded Contact Center calls; visiting branch offices; directly observing team members performing processes; and reviewing policies and desk procedures
  • Conduct quantitative research and analysis related to current and proposed future business processes
  • Evaluate current process effectiveness/efficiency through research/analysis of internal/external industry trends, markets and benchmarks
  • Synthesize research and findings; identify root causes of ineffective or inefficient processes; and recommend opportunities for improvement
  • Assess and communicate impacts, trade-offs, risks, costs and benefits of process re-engineering efforts
  • Serve as Product Owner for requirements gathering and user acceptance testing for approved process improvement initiatives
  • Employ appropriate process modeling, analytical tools, and simulations to design new/enhanced business processes and functions
  • Track the design, development, testing and implementation of approved process improvement and/or system enhancements
  • Develop and present periodic status reports for executive sponsors/stakeholders on active process improvement initiatives summarizing progress and/or deviations from planned costs, schedules, designs or deliverables
  • Create performance indicators to measure/report ROI and determine if employee experience or process improvement objectives have been achieved
  • Monitor implemented process improvement initiatives to determine whether new processes and standards are communicated, measured and updated to maintain continuing effectiveness and efficiency
  • Develop and promote the business process analysis disciplines, approaches and methodologies
  • Advocate for use of Navy Federal and industry best practices by keeping current with industry trends, new technologies, tools and innovative research while driving opportunities for change management across the


Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in business process management including business process management tools/software suites, business process mapping and assessment, re-engineering, modeling/architecture
  • Experience creating process flows using notation standards such as Business Process Model Notation (BPMN) or equivalent notations
  • LEAN or Six SIGMA or similar business process improvement methodology
  • Superior thought leadership in providing vision & strategic thinking to technical decisions/issues
  • Demonstrated experience developing business cases and cost analysis
  • Understanding of development life cycles (Scrum and other Agile, iterative approaches)
  • Experience performing analysis of business trends and producing executive summaries or reports for management review
  • Strong ability to effectively work with different levels of staff and management
  • Broad and enterprise-wide view of the business and its relationships to Information Technology
  • Highly proficient using Microsoft Office suite of productivity tools
  • Enterprise Architecture (use of a major framework and/or toolset)
  • Superior skill building effective relationships through rapport, trust, diplomacy and tact
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong situational analysis and decision-making skills
  • Superior skill influencing and building consensus with business partners
  • Effective organization, strategic planning and research skills
  • Demonstrated skill in results-oriented leadership in a challenging environment
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Desired Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in business administration, operations research, statistics or related fields
  • Experience working in a business operations group, preferably with direct interaction with or on behalf of business customers
  • Familiarity with the Business Analysis Book of Knowledge (BABOK)
  • Familiarity with PMI Project Management Framework (PMF)
  • Previous experience in the credit union/banking industry
  • Visualize and create high-level solutions to business problems/opportunities that integrate with enterprise technology capabilities
  • Experience assessing, authoring and evolving business process architectures, including documenting the architecture according to best practices in
  • LSS Black Belt certified
