Primary Purpose of the Position:

The VP, Global Business Services (GBS) will provide executive leadership for a diverse shared services team, to ensure the optimal and effective delivery of current and future global, multi-functional shared services. You will advance the GBS Vision and Mission through developing strong partnerships with internal customers and standardizing processes as well as nurturing a GBS high performance organization internally. The scope of responsibility is complex and includes multiple and growing regions, cultures, functions, and departments. This leader must be able to broaden current perspectives and approaches to accommodate future growth of Ball which may involve different operating models, structures, and service offerings depending on the readiness and maturity of the organization.

Essential Responsible Areas:
  • Develop and implement the GBS strategy, vision and operating model to deliver high-quality, cost-effective and customer-centric services across Finance, HR, IT, procurement and other shared functions
  • Drive continuous improvement, innovation and digital transformation of the GBS processes and systems to enhance efficiency, effectiveness and agility
  • Manage multiple large teams of GBS professionals across multiple global locations and ensure alignment, collaboration and performance management
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including business leaders, customers, suppliers and regulators
  • Monitor and report on the GBS performance metrics, service level agreements and customer satisfaction
  • Entrusted with the comprehensive management of the Business Application Portfolio. This involves active collaboration with global business and functional stakeholders and the core Technology and Data teams in delivery technology investments that support business capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's policies, standards and regulations as well as best practices in GBS
  • Reduce the cost to serve by optimizing the GBS resources, processes and technologies
  • Increase the service delivery quality and speed by standardizing, simplifying and automating the GBS services
  • Enable the process transformation and growth of the company by providing scalable, flexible and innovative GBS solutions

Position Requirement & Competencies:
  • Bachelor's Degree with a preference towards an Advanced Degree
  • Experience for 15 years minimum of broad HR, IT, and/or Financial Reporting
  • Experience for 5 years minimum in leading significant transformation/centralization projects
  • Demonstrated experience with project management with large, complex multi-stage implementations
  • Demonstrated skill in transformational leadership and service delivery
  • Demonstrated skill in continuous improvement and innovation
  • Demonstrated skill in influential leadership
  • Shared services design and Execution in a global multi-functional or multi-regional model is highly desirable
  • Lean Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing Experience
  • Process and compliance
  • Digital Transformation and RPA


Compensation & Benefits:

  • Hiring Salary Range: $240,000-$300,000 (Salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
  • This role is based in Colorado and requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for four (4) or more days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
  • This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
