Project Manager

Job Summary

Cognizant is looking for a Project Manager with at least 10-12 years of overall experience in developing customized product for our clients. Cognizant needs a motivated individual to challenge the status and provide thought leadership/best practices to enhance our current services and technologies. Design, implement and maintain Java-based applications that can be high-volume and low-latency.

An ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working in a fast paced, collaborative environment. Someone that values the "team" and leverages the opinions and expertise of their teammates to deliver quality.

Location: Pleasanton, CA

Work Authorization: You should be legally eligible to work for any employer in the US without the need for a sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate sprints and stand-ups
• Manage project timelines and scope
• Facilitate effective collaboration and internal communication.
• Help on-board and mentor new developers joining the team.
• Work together with product owners to handle new requests and backlogs.
• Help development teams to attain a higher level of Scrum maturity
• Remove obstacles and resolve conflicts that occur.
• Keep teams focused on the current sprint goals
• Manage technical work road map for the development teams

Required Qualifications

• Software development lifecycle knowledge.
• Software development background is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Scrum artifacts and techniques.
• These may include the Definition of Done, backlog refinement, user stories, and automated testing.
• Conflict-resolution and problem-solving abilities.
• Organizational skills

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $52,000- $137,600 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
