Aon is looking an Director for App Development Infrastructure, hybrid in Chicago!

As part of the Analytics Application Infrastructure Support team, you will be in an integral part of ensuring that our clients and colleagues are able to access, use, and derive value from our diverse environments.

Position Summary

This position will be responsible for planning, upgrading, and maintaining our catastrophe modeling environments and data centers as well as ensuring these environments are optimized for availability, performance, and minimized cost. This is a hands-on Director position with many areas of growth including App Dev Support architecture, server management, software development, application deployment and support, and technical project management. You will need to be in the Chicago area and present in the data center at least 3 days a week.

Role Responsibilities:

Provide App support to multiple data centers.

Manage server planning, build-outs, configurations, and maintenance and the conceptualization and execution of App Dev projects.

Ensure feedback is succinct, documented, and disseminated to the appropriate managers and customers.

Communication around software and server updates.

Become a source of knowledge and insight within the team.

Skills and experience that will lead to success:
  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in an IT or App Dev Support environment
  • Server, SAN, and network optimization
  • Ability to quickly learn software programs of a complex nature
  • Solid attention to detail and work ethic with a self-starter's mentality
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate well with others externally and internally.
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills including the ability to manage multiple assignments, work well with minimal supervision and meet goals in a timely manner

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position is $130,000 to $175,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted to reflect applicant's geographic location.
