Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, engineer, and manage the organization's z/VM, zLinux, and LinuxOne infrastructure and operational platforms
  • Must understand functional and non-functional requirements to ensure they can be achieved through system design and engineering to meet the needs of the customers
  • Resolve cross-system and domain dependencies
  • Monitor technological advancements and industry trends to influence company standards and ensure that solutions are continuously improved and maintained through product management practices, including recommendations to invest in a solution or retirement of redundant or out-of-date systems
  • Perform analysis on existing systems to ensure performance and reliability, enhance scalability, meet security requirements, and interoperable and maintainable technology portfolio
  • Analyze, Design, Build, and implement the migration from the z/VM and zLinux platform to the LinuxOne KVM platform
  • Serve as a recognized expert in the following areas - Engineering Principles
  • Design, build, test and adapt solutions that optimize environment and meet evolving needs of customers and business, leveraging and anticipating modern technologies

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM degree or 4+ years of equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in z/VM
  • 5+ years of experience in zLinux
  • 5+ years of experience in Linux
  • 5+ years of experience in KVM
  • 5+ years of experience in LinuxOne
  • 5+ years of experience in z Automation

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $122,100 to $234,700 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
