JOB TITLE: Director of Operations

STATUS: Full-Time, Exempt

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Director of Operations is responsible for ensuring efficient operations of the culinary, medical, facilities, operational, and administrative departments for assigned mental health treatment programs within AMFM Healthcare.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Must be 18 years or older to apply for this position.
  2. Ability to pass a federal DOJ background check and a standard background check.
  3. Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirement: Bachelor's degree or 5+ years experience in healthcare operations management.
  4. Possess valid driver's license with ability to drive between multiple locations and ability to be insured under the company insurance plan, 4+ years licensed to drive.
  5. CPR/AED/First Aid Certification.
  6. Current T.B. clearance.
  7. Physical Requirements: Ability to work on a computer/keyboard, use electronic systems, communicate with others through written and verbal formats, ability to sit for long periods of time, listening, reading comprehension, lifting up to 10 lbs.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Director of Operations will be assigned projects, based on his/her level of expertise, that include any, or all the following job responsibilities. The individual may also be assigned other duties as needed by their supervisor.

  1. Direct all facilities, nursing, intake and discharge, and culinary operations.
  2. Establish program goals and objectives for programs and services offered at all levels of care, and administer new policies based on performance improvement plans as needed, and review annually.
  3. Uphold and enforce the agency's standards, policies and procedures, client rights, and professional code of ethics and conduct.
  4. Assist Human Resources with staff conflicts, disciplinary action, and termination, including the competition of annual performance evaluations of assigned supervisees.
  5. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with direct report staff, supervisors, utilization review, managed health care clinicians, medical and mental health professionals
  6. Effectively manage and monitor the performance and direct the activities of direct report staff including the recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision of applicable Program Managers and other administrative and operations staff under the Program Directors jurisdiction.
  7. Administer and assist on-going project management and/or oversight of the Joint Commission and leadership steering committee; ensure standards conformance by supervising JC related activities, projects, studies, analyses, and tasks in the overall improvement of performance and quality
  8. Proactively address operational issues and collaborate with leadership to solve problems quickly and thoughtfully, using quantitative and qualitative metrics.
  9. Communicate in both written and verbal format, in a professional, appropriate tone to convey and receive essential information; must be able to utilize the proper linguistic syntax and spelling.
  10. Use proper decision-making and problem solving techniques to lead and manage direct report staff and facilities under purview.
