As we continue to grow our clinical laboratory business at McKesson, it is critical that we support more advanced laboratory solutions for our full range of customers; we support physician office labs, reference labs, and small hospital labs among others. These solutions will range from moderately complex core lab solutions (chemistry, immunochemistry, and hematology); to laboratory information systems required to ensure efficiency and connectivity; to advanced microbiology, molecular, genetic, and other more esoteric testing solutions. Some of these solutions will come from well-established suppliers while others will involve innovative technologies and new partners.

We are seeking a US-based VP, Advanced Laboratory Solutions. This national sales and strategy leader is responsible for developing the strategy to grow these advanced solutions and driving tactical execution.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify solutions critical to customer success and expansion of the McKesson Lab solution set. Lead development of sales models to support advanced solutions.
  • Lead the team of Laboratory Equipment Specialists and Advanced Product Sales Specialists responsible for team selling & growing portfolio sales. Establish and monitor key performance indicators, ensuring funnel management, team selling behaviors, and supplier engagement.
    Direct commercial activities, establishing & monitoring sales goals, coaching, cultivating a system of proactive sales and service delivery, developing strategic account plans & developing close relationships with key accounts.
  • Strategically manage supplier relationships in conjunction with our Product Strategy & Supplier Partnerships (PSSP) team. Those responsibilities include identifying/ growing new relationships with innovative, diagnostic manufacturers & maintaining/ growing current partnerships.
  • Maintain high visibility with internal partners in Sales, Marketing, and PSSP. Collaborate with supported Sales teams to ensure highest levels of team selling service.
  • The leader may spend 50% of their time on business travel which includes business meetings and time spent with the sales reps and customers.


Minimum Job Qualifications:
  • Degree or equivalent experience, MBA preferred
  • 13+ years of professional sales experience and 6+ years of
    diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization,
    and people motivation skills


Specialized Knowledge/Skills Required:
  • Strong leadership background with a high degree of motivation
  • Ability to lead across a matrixed organization with the ability to communicate/ persuade stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of clinical laboratory, laboratory manufacturers, and distribution
  • Adept at solving complex problems & managing multiple projects
  • Experience selling healthcare/laboratory equipment and/or lab technology
  • Financial acumen & executive presence
  • Mature confidence and self-awareness (can influence others diplomatically)
  • Ability to make difficult decisions and have difficult conversations
  • Proficiency with MS Office and CRM tools.


Specialized Knowledge/Skills Preferred :
  • Experience collaborating in the development of financial & sales compensation plans
  • Proven experience developing, executing and managing sales forecasts and business plans


Working Conditions:
  • Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Up to 50% travel.
  • Large percent of time performing computer-based work is required.

As part of Total Rewards, we are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson. This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Total Target Cash (TTC) Pay Range for this position:

$230,900 - $384,900

Total Target Cash (TTC) is defined as base pay plus target incentive.
