Job Summary:

This job is responsible for driving accurate, complete, and timely delivery of data. Key responsibilities include working with business stakeholders and technology teams to direct commercial banking data management activities and ensure availability for use by appropriate consumers. Job expectations include managing execution within the enterprise data management standards, data quality, and control practices.

Job Responsibilities:

The Credit Card & Small Business Lending senior data analyst is a strategic, user-facing role within the Consumer Privacy and Data Management (CPDM) organization. The senior data analyst is responsible for understanding and advocating for FLU/CF data users' needs and existing challenges/opportunities. As the primary conduit to FLU/CF data users, the senior data analyst works to understand user needs and develops a prioritized plan to improve and coordinate execution with data capture and transport owners. Data supporting these needs reside primarily in two Authorized Data Sources: BACARDI (AIT 2803) and CAAP (AIT 69659).

This role will provide an opportunity to join a seasoned team of subject matter experts with many years of experience with Card and Small Business Lending data. The role will offer opportunities to learn all aspects of the Card data life cycle, from the upstream operational data processes to the downstream business uses of these data, as well as the governance and control functions that ensure the quality of these data.

Responsibilities for this role include:
  • BUSINESS REQUIREMENTS / TECH ENGAGEMENT: Technology engagement and handoffs, including gathering, creating, and/or refining business requirements.
  • ADS / 'BEST SOURCE' ADOPTION: Planning and overseeing usage of the most appropriate (best) data source (beyond just ADS).
  • MANAGING DATA ISSUES / INCIDENTS: Managing data issues and incidents, from prioritizing to funding, remediation, and initiatives.
  • DATA CONTROL / DATA QUALITY: The data control environment and how to incorporate data quality across the data supply chain.
  • INTEGRATED CHANGE PIPELINE: Creating and maintaining an integrated view of potential changes, and the bucketing/bundling of initiatives.
  • BUSINESS METADATA DOCUMENTATION, MAINTENANCE, AND HARMONIZATION: Documenting business metadata, maintaining it, and harmonizing data definitions across domains and systems.


Required Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Bank's Enterprise Data Policy and Standard.
  • Proven ability to manipulate and query large datasets using SQL and/or SAS. Familiarity with relational database platforms including TERADATA.
  • Bachelor's degree required - technical degree preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, logical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills at all levels (i.e., colleagues to senior management) and situations (i.e., one-on-one to presentations).
  • Strong understanding of BAC's Credit Card business operations and relationships between business areas, typically acquired through previous financial services experience.
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail in work as well as the ability to remain calm and flexible in the face of increased demands, changing priorities and uncertain environment.
  • Self-motivated team player


Desired Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with Card data is a plus.
  • Previous Bank of America data management experience.
  • Familiarity with data management tools including: MetaPortal, Collibra, POP, EDR, DART, PPRT.
