DESCRIPTION

Clinical Specialist in Hand Therapy, working in our new state of the art Outpatient Pavilion designed specifically to promote ease of collaboration with our world class orthopedic surgeons. We provide care to a diverse patient population with a variety of hand and upper extremity injuries, including traumatic injuries and pathological conditions. This position is responsible for delivery of occupational therapy services including evaluation and treatment of routine and complex patients. Responsibilities will also include: representing our dynamic Rehabilitation Services department to the medical and general community, demonstrating competence in the UC San Diego Health core values, and sharing your expertise with departmental staff in areas of advanced clinical care and customer service. This position will also cover our Rancho Bernardo clinic 2 days per week.

Depending on experience of the selected candidate, this position will be hired at the OT I, II or III level.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduation from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy approved by the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association, eligibility for registration by the National Registry of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • Occupational Therapist license issued by the state of California.
  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Two (2) years Occupational Therapy experience
  • Outpatient experience in a hospital based setting and/or preferred experience in a large academic medical center.
  • Certified Hand Therapist (CHT).
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • May flex and float between sites as needed.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $111,040 - $146,494 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $53.18 - $70.16

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
