Supply Chain Engineering Project Leader

The Supply Chain Engineering Project Leader will lead the development of innovative supply chain solutions. Responsible for coaching & mentoring other engineers. Provides regular and proactive communication to customers and NFI leadership. The successful candidate will possess excellent technical skills and leadership experience combined with demonstrated interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collects data and performs statistical analysis
  • Maps and documents processes
  • Independently identifies process gaps; recommends and implements process improvement
  • Applies standard engineering methodologies and tools to design distribution and/or transportation solutions
  • Conducts Supply Chain analyses and recommends alternative strategies
  • Actively supports the sales process and creates high-quality solutions and designs
  • Provides proposal and presentation support and creation for new business development
  • Effectively interacts with customers, sales, and operations to create value propositions
  • Manages multiple projects of small and medium-size
  • Leads, coaches, and mentors other engineers
  • Applies Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and Statistical Process Controls (SPC) tools


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering is required.
  • Minimum 6-8 years of experience in any of the following areas; transportation management, dedicated fleet operations, distribution center management, materials handling, industrial engineering, decision support systems, and technology
  • Master Degree preferred
  • 3 years of 3PL experience
  • Strong knowledge of transportation and warehousing solutions and operations
  • Manhattan: Labor Management Software (LMS) experience is plus
  • Data management and manipulation skills
  • Programming skills to manipulate large data-sets
  • Experience with routing and scheduling packages and transportation optimization software
  • AutoCAD and Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Inventory Analysis tools
  • Strong financial conceptual skills
  • Strong computer proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Demonstrated data manipulation skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Experience preparing and presenting oral and written presentations to management and clients
  • Experience with supply chain technology
  • Well organized with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to learn technical skills quickly
  • Understanding of optimization and/or simulation algorithms
  • Database skills, especially through SQL or Access
  • Knowledge in: VBA, Python, R, Java, C++, or C# is a major plus
  • Travel: 30% or as required to support business needs


(California Applicants) We are excited to share the base salary range for this position $148,863.00-$198,484.00. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, targeted at 10%. NFI takes into consideration applicants' qualifications, experience, education, geographic location, when determining a starting rate of pay.
