Job Summary:

The Packaging Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying new business opportunities for Aquestive's contract packaging business and developing, growing, and maintaining business relationships with existing and potential new customers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct prospecting activities to identify new opportunities for business
  • Develop new client/business relationships, resulting in new sales to meet corporate goals
  • Continuously analyze new company and industry information (internal and external) to find new opportunities and synergies for business growth beyond existing offerings
  • Develop and manage business proposals for all new opportunities through full execution of the proposal
  • Manage process for fulfilling potential customers' RFP, bids, pricing, etc.
  • Negotiate proposals and business terms in agreements, coordinating with Management and Legal on all agreements
  • Review and analyze sales performance for existing assigned business against the company's goal and budget
  • Prepare a regular funnel report of open opportunities identifying the phase of the opportunity and plans to close Monitor and provide competitor intelligence reports including information on competitor updates, market trends, etc.
  • Represent AQST at conferences and other industry events in support of new business opportunities
  • Collaborate with appropriate internal resources to develop comprehensive sales presentation materials tailored to the prospective client as needed.


Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in technical area (e.g., Engineering or Science) preferred
  • 5+ years proven business development, sales, and client support management in contract packaging for the pharmaceutical or other industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and closing new business opportunities in the contract packaging industry.
  • Proven record of delivering high-quality presentations and business proposals/contracts under tight timelines.
  • Highly organized in planning and time management, with the ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed
