Job Description

Job Summary

Responsible for the oversight and management of daily operations for the Imaging division. The Manager of Imaging ensures that safety and quality control standards are met, evaluates new procedures and equipment, and develops programs that are congruent with departmental goals and objectives.

Job Requirements

5 years as a supervisor/manager

Bachelor's Degree

Current/Unrestricted Louisiana RRT license ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist

Job Function
  1. Leadership
    1. Checking on Radiologist, making sure referring physicians are getting reports in a timely manner
    2. Schedule in RIS, making sure schedulers are giving first available appointments
    3. Approve overtime for employees
    4. Peer Review for Radiologist
  2. Program Management and Daily Operations
    1. Assists in planning short- and long-term projects and oversees departmental activities related to these projects.
    2. Verify Contrast Coverage Log Books are kept up to date
    3. Checking Speech Q and deleting exams when necessary
    4. Monitor RIS daily for delays with exams, reports, faxes, etc.
    5. Working with GE Pacs admin to resolve pending reports
    6. Checking reports for Aborted Scans
    7. Keeping up with medications in the Banyan Stat Kit (expiration dates)
  3. Performance Improvement and Quality
    1. Make sure all modalities are kept up with scheduled PMs (printers, chillers, etc.)
    2. Monitors departmental standards for the evaluation of personnel performance, identifies ways of improving the quality of existing services, and makes prudent and efficient recommendations that promote efficient departmental operations.
    3. Promotes and encourages the growth and development of staff members by encouraging their participation in approved continuing education activities such as professional conferences, seminars, and workshops. Advocates continuing education as a means of promoting the high quality services provided by all departmental personnel.
    4. Making sure techs are maintaining ACR
    5. Promotes the quality and efficiency of his/her own performance by remaining current with the latest trends in field of expertise through participation in job-relevant seminars and workshops, attendance at professional conferences, and affiliations with national and state professional organizations.
  4. Other Duties As Assigned
    1. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
    2. Consistently performs 12 organizational Service Standards focused on Values, Service, and Quality.
