Research and Development Specialist

Regular contributions:

- Library preparation and sequencing of in-house samples following a defined protocol

- Performing analytical measurements of synthesis material

- Operating a variety of liquid handling tools for various steps in sample processing

- Reagent preparation in and out of glove boxes.

- Operating chemical handling equipment inside the chemical fume hood

- qPCR bench work for quantitative analysis of synthesis material

- Operation of other analytical hardware after training

- Supporting hazardous waste management

- Assist Senior Biologists and Chemists as directed to support workflow

- Data recording and tracking the quality of reagents, generating scientific reports as needed.

- Routinely populating tracking sheets and run logs (example: library prep, LCMS, sequencer) to help communication and planning out a workload

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree, no research experience required; work experience of working in industrial or clinical settings is preferred

- Pipetting and bench work experience is required

- Biochemistry/Engineering knowledge is nice to have.

- Ability to stand for long durations, lift heavy objects in the lab, walk from lab to lab for various operations

The base cash compensation for this California-based role is below. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for bonus, equity, and a generous benefits package. Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate skill, experience, expertise, and location and may vary from the amount listed above. Compensation may be different in other locations.

$73,000-$91,000 USD
