Reporting to the Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, the Finance Optimization Director, in collaboration with the Finance Executive Team, is responsible for leading the design and development of the Finance Optimization Strategy. The Finance Optimization Director will lead efforts to enhance Finance's operating model in order to ensure it meets current and future strategic objectives, as well as aligns and meets AHC's objectives. This role will focus on improvements to the existing model, to include financial systems, workflows, and resources. The role will partner with all areas of Finance and work in close collaboration with senior stakeholders across the business to leverage insights, formulate plans and activities, and deliver complex, cross functional solutions to enhance the delivery of services to the business, which can include, but are not limited to 1) finance business process review, redesign and optimization i.e., end-to-end enrollment and revenue process; 2) operating model enhancements; and 3) enabling of technology / digital implementations i.e., robotic process automation, digital integration, and finance technology related solutions.

Utilizing their knowledge of Finance functions, the enterprise, as well as industry best practices, the Finance Optimization Director is responsible for the ideation of Finance optimization initiatives that align with Finance and organizational objectives and development of associated business cases to solicit support/approval for implementation. For all significant approved Finance optimization initiatives, this role will develop and manage implementation plans, prioritize initiatives based on value, lead vendor/system selection and related testing activities (as applicable), engage key stakeholders and manage change across the functional teams and throughout the organization, and ensure timely implementation within budget and escalation of major issues.

The Finance Optimization Director is accountable for regular reporting to the CFO and Finance Executive Team, including the development and management of a progress dashboard, to inform key decision making in relation to the Financial optimization strategy for the organization.

Education/ Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree (required)
  • Master's Degree or CPA license (preferred)
  • Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders, manage competing agendas and priorities, and translate complex information across functions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and challenge stakeholders where appropriate
  • Strong change/project management skills and proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Solid understanding of Finance functions and systems and a sound working knowledge of insurance industry
  • An eye for detail coupled with a strategic mind set
  • A minimum of 10 years of related experience with proven track record, including experience aligning technology, change management, and workforce strategies with business priorities.
