Toll Brothers, America's Luxury Home Builder, has an immediate opportunity for a top-notch Assistant Division Controller to join our fast-paced and exciting accounting team at our Corporate office in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania.

What is the opportunity?

The Assistant Division Controller helps to oversee accounting and accounts payable functions for a division and will be partnering with leadership to meet business objectives.

What are the primary responsibilities?
  • Complete month-end closing activities including allocations, profit recognition, general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations, and flux analyses
  • Analyze accounting transactions for accuracy, investigate discrepancies and take corrective action when necessary
  • Review & prepare schedules and support for monthly, quarterly reviews and year-end audits. Respond to interim review and year-end audit requests from internal and external auditors
  • Maintain and enhance SOX appropriate control environment by adhering to requirements, updating documentation, and providing recommendations as appropriate
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to design and implement process efficiencies. Develop processes/systems to drive efficiencies and measure, evaluate, and improve departmental and individual productivity
  • Assist with the implementation of processes, internal controls and documentation procedures to enhance accounting processes
  • Optimize the capabilities of the accounting organization by coaching and mentoring team members
  • Provide technical support on the treatment of accounting issues, interpretation and implementation of new accounting standards and compliance with US GAAP
  • Support Controller in completing special projects, ad-hoc reporting, analysis requests, and other opportunities as needed
  • Partner with operational leadership to foster an environment of support to all operational disciplines
  • Business Plan creation, quarterly updates, and prepping semi-annual re-forecast for presentation to Sr. Management
  • Analyze key company metrics such as ROA, Gross Margin, SG&A, Operating Margin
  • Review of monthly journal entries, monthly Division P&L, and variance analysis
  • Assist with supporting and preparation of analyses required for operational reviews and land acquisition
  • Help ensure divisions compliance with internal corporate policies and procedures
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Do you have these qualifications?
  • Essential:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
    • 3-5 years of professional Accounting experience
    • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
    • Strong working knowledge of GAAP
  • Preferred:
    • Experience using JD Edwards/E1
    • Experience managing and training a team
