The Cloud Solution Architect, Digital Foundry will help design and ensure adherence to the design of multiple global digital products being developed within Carrier Digital. This role will work on a range of hardware and software products critical to Carrier's continued business growth. As a Cloud Solution Architect, Digital Foundry, you will be the technical and functional leader of one or more scrum teams responsible for solving complex business and technology issues, from strategy to execution.

You will solve problems in a fast-paced, collaborative, and iterative delivery environment. This position will significantly impact the tech agenda within the organization and devise clear roadmaps to deliver next generation technology solutions across a global organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supports all phases of product engineering, from conception through execution and support for full development lifecycles in collaboration with multifunctional leaders, stakeholders, contributors, and customers
  • Drives development principles, best practices, quality standards, and activities within engineering production to minimize/mitigate risks, issues, and defects of platform service offerings, such that teams may appropriately characterize, manage, and remediate
  • Aligns with Product and other key stakeholders to help scope projects, define requirements, perform gap analysis, refine functional requirements, and manage engineering team's technical execution and commitments using Agile/Scrum best practices
  • Conceptualizes solutions and generates secure design requirements, for related feature and function development, implement required modules and solutions, and fosters new product development and innovation
  • Ensure security activities such as threat modeling, security assurance testing, cyber risk assessment, security reviews and threat vulnerability assessment for all offerings are part of solutions and the product engineering
  • Conduct architecture reviews, cybersecurity reviews, and code reviews
  • Provides timely and expert support to resolve difficult problems and issues
  • Provides thought leadership, advisement, mentorship, training, and engagement
  • Provides audit, analysis, and review support for certification, standards, governance, process, infrastructure, deployment and all collaborative mission areas
  • Provides critical support as required for all major Product Security missions, including Secure Development, Operations, Commercialization, and Innovation


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 6+ years of hands-on, enterprise level, or professional software development
  • 4+ years of hands-on cloud system design and solution architecture
  • 5+ years of system design and architecture experience


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or above in computer engineering, computer science, software engineering, or comparable professional experience at a minimum
  • A complete understanding of software development life cycle, from customer needs to product release
  • 3+ years of engineering/development team leadership experience (Team Lead, Eng. Mgr, or similar)
  • 2+ years of distributed engineering team leadership experience
  • Expertise and domain knowledge in developing, maintaining reusable software services, infrastructure for promoting reuse of services/ components/ libraries
  • Hands-on experience developing modern, cloud-native, IaC software technologies to deliver industrial, enterprise-grade platform products and services
  • Expertise in developing and deploying serverless AWS solutions
  • Deep knowledge of cloud architecture, cloud native patterns, and cloud computing capabilities especially as offered by AWS
  • Significant technical expertise in Cloud Computing technologies, scripting languages, integrating 3rd party monitoring tools, encryption tools and best practices, and forensics
  • Implementation experience with enterprise security solutions
  • Working knowledge of common and industry standard cloud-native/cloud-friendly authentication mechanisms
  • Experience with deployment orchestration, automation, and security configuration management
  • Strong skills and experience in Analytics Cloud migration and implementation, AWS services related to analytics, AI/ML, CI/CD
  • Experience developing highly scalable applications using service-oriented, microservice, and/or RESTful
  • Experience in messaging platforms, protocols, and technologies
  • Experience in managing and optimization Big Data / Hadoop clusters
  • Design for failover, high availability, MTTR, MTTF and MTBF
  • Experience in designing and implementation of automated backup and restoration of application/web servers/databases/data lakes
