Responsibilities

About the role:

The AVP of Digital Strategy and Operations is responsible for efficiently scaling digital technology and marketing capabilities and will play a pivotal role in the development and execution of our digital technology organization. This leader will be responsible for aligning and integrating resources across the organization, leading high performing teams and managing the digital organization's strategy and operational needs. They will also work closely with other department leaders, stakeholders to support critical initiatives, drive organizational OKR's and establish performance measures.

This role involves promoting knowledge-sharing and driving practice consistency within digital initiatives. The AVP must possess strong communication skills, be adept at building relationships and have a proven track record of leadership within digital products and or initiatives. Position requires substantial collaboration with Executive leaders, other departments, and business partners in order to provide support. In addition, they will have contact and interaction with all levels of management and departments across the organization, as well as external customers, vendors and/or contractors.

  • Manage department performance using key information, processes and systems to ensure accountability for achieving business results
  • Responsible for development of ad hoc analysis and presentations for Executive leadership
  • Conduct discovery, define objectives and scope, document current and future-state processes, document risks and assumptions, and oversee implementation
  • Assist leadership with preparation and maintenance of detailed and comprehensive documentation of processes and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned, conform with all company policies and procedures
  • Assist leadership with all aspects of the annual budget, forecasting, reporting and maintenance
  • Support Digital leadership, FP&A, Tax and Procurement with finance related inquiries/requests, including, but not limited to requisitions, purchase orders, SOWs, funding documents and forecasts
  • Builds partnerships, supports and gathers feedback with cross-functional teams including procurement and cybersecurity to ensure all vendor engagements remain compliant with GM Financial policies and procedures
  • Provide executive leadership level reporting on the score carding of Vendors and status of Digital Vendor Management activities on a regular basis by monitoring vendor metrics and staff activities
  • Develop, lead and implement effective vendor governance programs through working with key stakeholders
  • Responsible for the department budget, capacity planning, and audit & regulatory compliance related to vendor management in the Digital and Marketing organization. This role will also be the primary liaison between Digital and Financial Planning & Analysis, Corporate Vendor Management, Tax and Procurement on all Digital financial affairs
  • Facilitate and maintain relationships between our organization and vendors/partners, creating standards for the vendors and ensuring vendors are delivering maximum value through their services while managing risk for GM Financial

  • Knowledge of digital technology methodologies, policies, standards and best practices
  • Knowledge of best practices in technology governance and regulatory landscape
  • Knowledge of GM Financial's core business functions, policies and procedures
  • Significant experience in a large and complex business environment
  • Advanced working knowledge of information systems and operations systems
  • Advanced knowledge of reporting tools and systems such as Cognos, Oracle Finance, EPM, ServiceNow
  • Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of management

Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in in Business, Finance, Accounting, IT or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Greater than 10 years combined experience in digital marketing, technology, finance, accounting, and/or vendor management required
  • 3-5 years management experience required
