This is the right role for you if you have been deep in Operations, DevOps or Application Development in the past, but want to focus on building, advising, and teaching our partner community through scalable and programmatic interactions. You will serve as the technical face of AWS to our partner community, specifically focusing on channel partners such as resellers, distributors, and others who help AWS deliver cloud services at scale. Curiousity and passion for building innovative yet simple solutions across the broad landscape of AWS services is required to excel in this role.

The technical expectations for this role span a large area from compute, storage, networking, security, automation, operations, and everything in-between.

In this role you will have the opportunity to work directly with AWS engineering teams to advise on product roadmap, assist with architecture design, guide their implementation and help promote their offerings. The role also has a scale component that can best be met with writing technical papers, participating in webinars, and speaking at technical conferences. Your broad responsibilities will include owning the global technical engagement with our largest channel partners, as well as scaling best practices across internal AWS teams.

You will possess deep technical skills in software architecture, continuous deployment, automation, and operations. Strong communication skills and the ability to speak to various audiences will help you succeed in this role!

- Support high scale partner development business team

- Advise partners on opportunities to grow their business in the cloud.

- Provide architectural guidance on migrating existing and developing new partner offerings in the cloud.

- Capture and share field lessons learned with internal engineering teams.

- Write technical white papers, blog posts, and provide specific technical guidance.

- Provide guidance to partner engineering teams.

- Promote partners internally and externally with webinars and speaking opportunities.

- Turn big ideas into products and services, and help influence the direction of AWS.

About the team

Sales, Marketing and Global Services (SMGS)

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience

- 3+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience

- 3+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries

- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud

- Experience working with AWS technologies in a DevOps, Security, or Operations perspective.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $204,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
