Responsible to: SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF OPERATIONS

Position Summary: As the Director of Health, Safety, and Environment, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies, policies, and programs to ensure the organization's commitment to maintaining a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace. Your role is critical in fostering a safety culture, promoting sustainability, and driving continuous improvement across all operations and processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Health and Safety Management:

  • Develop and lead the organization's health and safety programs, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Identify and assess potential hazards in the workplace and implement measures to mitigate risks.
  • Establish safety training programs and ensure all employees receive proper training to perform their duties safely.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.


Environmental Management:

  • Develop and oversee environmental policies and programs to minimize the organization's environmental impact.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote sustainable practices throughout the organization.
  • Monitor environmental performance and report on progress to relevant stakeholders.


Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks related to health, safety, environment, and quality, and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to assess and manage risks associated with new projects, products, or processes.


Compliance and Reporting:

  • Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to health, safety, environment, and quality.
  • Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies as required, ensuring timely and accurate compliance reporting.


Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead a team of health, safety, environment, and quality professionals, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the HSE team and across the organization.


Other Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering) is typically required.
  • Professional certifications in relevant areas such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Quality Manager (CQM), or Environmental Management System (EMS) are highly desirable.
  • Proven experience with a minimum of 10+ years in health, safety, environment, and quality management, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in health, safety, environment, and quality management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proven track record in driving a safety-first culture and continuous improvement initiatives
