Role and Team

This position is responsible for driving the training strategy and alignment across our nationwide team of sales directors and associates through strategic planning, execution, and collaboration with leadership. This role will provide countless opportunities to tackle our most pressing training and development challenges for our ADESA sales teams. To be successful, this position requires a unique mix of business intuition, analytical expertise, and aptitude to drive strategic decisions. This role will connect the dots, see interrelations and impacts between complex and diverse teams, and clearly communicate recommendations, available options, and various implications.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the strategic planning of the sales learning experience, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
  • Assess training needs in collaboration with business leaders and stakeholders to design and implement effective sales training programs.
  • Create internal communication strategies and work cross-functionally to execute messaging.
  • Partner closely with sales leaders and relevant stakeholders to understand market dynamics and sales team requirements.
  • Develop and execute internal communication strategies specific to sales initiatives.
  • Guide and design the vision behind user-centric content, based on learning principles, to drive learning transfer and business outcomes across a wide range of delivery methods including in-person, webinar, digital, and other modalities.
  • Identify gaps, opportunities, and updates in existing curriculums and implement creative and innovative solutions for improvement.
  • Provide regular reports to leadership on the measurable impact of training programs on sales performance and business results.
  • Reinforce a commitment to excellence in customer service and sales performance.
  • Lead change management efforts related to sales processes and strategies
  • Identify, assess, and design different initiatives to elevate the customer and employee experience in partnership with Operations and Talent Development.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Training & Development, Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field required
  • Minimum of 7-10 years working in a training and development capacity in a large and complex business setting
  • Automotive industry experience preferred
  • Travel is anticipated to be 40-50% of the time to our auction locations and in the field with our sales teams
  • Experience developing successful training programs that have led to sales performance improvement and ultimately had a positive influence on the business's overall performance and effectiveness
  • Exceptional communication skills including clear, articulate, and confident written and verbal communication, specifically with remote stakeholders
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft or Google Suite products, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to learn quickly and transfer knowledge
  • Proven ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail
  • Confidentiality and integrity while handling sensitive information
  • Have proven analytical skills, being capable of gathering, conducting, and evaluating analyses of program performance, identifying points of improvement, and developing clear and compelling solutions and strategies from the findings
  • Proven ability to manage deliverables and metrics against aggressive targets and timelines
  • Driven by working hard, being challenged in a fast-paced environment, and having fun while doing so
