Job Summary

This role is within Chamberlain Group's Finance function and partners with leaders of an assigned Business Unit to set strategy, including evaluating and prioritizing initiatives on the 3-5 strategic product and service roadmap. A successful incumbent will provide financial oversight, direct a team of finance professionals, and offer decision support to the Business Unit leader for strategic initiatives to ensure the Business Unit achieves its goals and objectives. This includes annual budgets, monthly forecasts, strategic planning, evaluation of strategic acquisitions, development of new products, prioritization/rationalization of new business development, and various ad hoc business analyses. Provides consolidated data, reporting, and analysis to the Business Unit leader.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide consolidated results analysis to the Business Unit leader and team
  • Manage the activities of one or more Managers or Senior Managers, indirectly manage Sr. Financial Analysts, Financial Analysts or Specialists; mentor and develop team members by providing performance improvement guidance, training and development opportunities for skill building; opportunities to build relationships and acquire experiences pertinent to individual and team goals
  • Manage financial assessment and analysis of Business Unit strategic initiatives/objectives in partnership with Business Unit leader; champion behaviors to achieve strategic initiatives, Provide recommendations and counsel to the Business Unit leader on the efficacy of new initiatives and opportunities as the business explores growth opportunities
  • Provide deep financial insight in prioritizing strategic initiatives and developments over a 3-5-year horizon. Manage a cross functional team to complete complex strategic modeling to build 3-5 comprehensive strategic plans
  • Evaluate strategic acquisition targets for financial fit in a Business Unit
  • Drive the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes for the Business Unit ensure budgets and forecasts are aligned with strategic direction; develop spending targets for new initiatives; ensure compliance to planning calendar timelines and that department managers have spend forecasts/plans in line with annual budget
  • Oversee and ensure accuracy of all financial results, analyses and forecasts; drive compliance to policies and controls; ensure monthly judgements and estimates are accurately booked/accrued; facilitate purchase order management and cost center budgeting
  • Assess periodic reporting and analysis needs for business performance management; develop and modify the standardized periodic reporting; drive consistency in definition of business/financial terms and metrics
  • Oversee financial decision support, assist product management with analysis of price/mix, promotions/programs, returns and warranty, other metrics and trends
  • Drive consistency and process for New Product Development financials for Commercial BU projects; work with project financial leads to ensure assumption are reasonable and well documented
  • Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.
  • Protect Chamberlain Group's reputation by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 10-15 years in roles financially supporting business units in a consumer durable or manufacturing environment; experience managing a team of financial professionals
  • Knowledge of ERP system and planning software
  • Ability to travel up to 15% within North America
  • Masters in Business Administration, CMA or CPA Preferred
  • Experience with SAP and Business Planning and Consolidations (BPC) Preferred
