Overview

This position will lead the human resources business and administration team and provide HR business and HR compliance leadership for Titan Machinery North America. This position will build trusted relationships and partner with client groups to apply HR management principles and knowledge to establish rapport, trust, confidence and credibility with management and employees. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who can relate to individuals at all levels within the organization. This position is responsible for HR compliance with federal, state, and local laws, policies, procedures, and best practices. This position must be sensitive to corporate goals, employee goodwill and business needs, while also administering HR services.

  • Lead the HR business and administration team and help develop and implement the Human Resources plans, processes, and procedures related to:
    • Onboarding
    • Performance management
    • Employee and management HR related questions (e.g. policies, benefits, etc.)

  • Coach and counsel managers, supervisors, and employees on employee relations issues. Assist the team in designing proper solutions to employee relations issues/cases, talent acquisition, and other HR related issues.
    • Provide employees and managers with guidance regarding policy interpretation.
    • Counsel and guide managers on employee disciplinary actions.
    • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
    • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, including employee complaints, harassment allegations, and/or civil rights complaints.
    • Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations through adhering to internal standards and procedures.
  • Manage employee relations issues and conduct investigations in support of corporate ethics and values.
  • Ensure that HR related policies, processes, and procedures comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Responsible for HR related compliance (EEO, AAP, FLSA, etc.) including the development and filing of all required reporting and follow up on inquiries and investigations.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and administration of all employee related benefits and perquisites including but not limited to:
    • FMLA and medical leave approvals and case management.
    • Absences, exits, return to work, and military leave.
  • Hire, train, and manage the performance of the business HR and administration team.
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Assist in the implementation and administration of employee recognition programs, events, and activities.
  • Assist in the implementation and administration of all EHS related policies and procedures.
  • Actively participate in the Titan Human Resources Team to ensure the sharing of Human Resources best practices, the leveraging of resources across the team, and the deployment of Human Resources processes across the entire company.
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources Team to ensure the effective and efficient management of employee data.
  • Partner with management and the HR Team to communicate Human Resources policies, procedures, programs and laws.
  • Determine and recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.
  • Conducts investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth.
  • Participate in and/or lead special projects

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management or an equivalent field and 6 years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor employees at all levels in the organization.
  • Must demonstrate a high level of personal comfort with change and change management, and the ability to consult and guide managers and employees through change initiatives.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal employment laws relating to key areas of responsibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines efficiently and cost effectively.
  • Keen attention to detail and a high level of initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, in writing and verbally, to inform, persuade, influence, and/or recognize employees and managers at all levels of the organization.
  • Willingness to travel as needed (up to 10%) and willing to work flexible hours.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, stressful work environment.
  • Ability to handle and resolve interpersonal conflict.
  • Ability to respond quickly, accurately, and professionally to demands and requests from customers and employees.

Preferred:
  • 3 years Human Resources Management experience
  • CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR Certification
