Job Summary

AEP Economic & Business Development is seeking an experienced economic development and/or business development professional to join its successful and high performing team to represent its northern Indiana and Southwest Michigan service area. The EBD Manager is responsible for developing an annual business plan that aligns with overall EBD team goals. This role is also responsible for achieving new revenue targets set annually by recruiting new customers or assisting with the expansion of existing customers. As part of the business plan, it is expected that there will be travel within the service territory and within the US to meet with customers, prospects, consultants, and other multipliers.

As a hybrid role, this position has the ability to establish a home base at one of the AEP facilities in the greater South Bend and SW Michigan region.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Actively participate in the AEP Safety culture by setting an example of care for safety and welfare in personal and professional tasks.
  • Provides overall Economic Development direction and support in an assigned region of the AEP service territory.
  • Proactively identifies and manages business relationships with companies in target sectors.
  • Generate business leads and work to secure revenue producing investment in the AEP service territory.
  • Serve as a resource to Company personnel involved in Marketing, Community Affairs or Economic Development areas.
  • Manage and implement proposals for companies requesting buildings or sites in AEP territory.
  • Support asset utilization and business development efforts.
  • Assume other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate the highest standards of ethical behavior and support the Company's Corporate Compliance Policy.
  • Manage Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Engagement Cloud data input and maintenance to facilitate effective project management within group and across the organization.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Engineering, Finance, Business Administration or related field preferred with a minimum of 5 years of economic/business development including industry-specific experience.
  • OR Associate degree with minimum of 7 years of economic/business development including industry-specific experience.
  • OR High school diploma / GED with 8 years of economic/business development including industry-specific experience.


**Certified Economic Development Professional designation or similar certification preferred. Master's degree preferred.

*Demonstrated strategic and analytical skills.

*Strong oral and written communications skills, with ability to build relationships and achieve objectives through collaboration with multiple entities both within and outside the organization.

*Demonstrated ability to strategically manage economic development projects.

$110,656.00-143,853.50 USD
